The unexpected joy of a hole-in-one

Ace

by Terry Reilly

Ball on tee;

Swing back slow, steadily;

Drive down, forwards and through, forcefully.

Watch the ball,

Quickly becoming small,

Now above the green, starting to fall.

Land with spin;

Roll back towards the pin.

"It can't - it won't - it's only dropped in!"
