The train chugged into the terminus. Lady Amanda adjusted her cotton bonnet as she glanced through the window.
Papa insisted Lord Henry, Lady Amanda’s potential suitor, carry a red rose.
Amanda was indignant at her father’s choice of suitor, a man with greying temples.
‘At twenty-one I am too young for greying temples,’ she thought.
She caught sight of a man carrying a yellow rose. No greying temples. Just golden locks and a determined gait.
Amanda’s eyes lit up. She hurried. The platform was almost empty.
‘What is the color of love ?' she wondered.
