A poem exploring the emotional landscape of loss and longing
Eclipsed Stars
The Sun comes up
and I think of
the last day we ever shared.
The Sun rose that day too.
The Sun goes down
and I think about
the first night we spent apart.
Losing you
was like if the sky
went from blue straight to dark.
No orange
No pink
No clouds shaped like sharks
When I lost you
I lost the starlit sky
Only darkness
in the manifold
of glaring beady eyes
That was the first night
they no longer felt like mine
Did it change or had they
always been in disguise?
