it's a glorious morning

the sun cast colors

along the horizon, I'm

watching the day begin

 

what will become new

today, in my eyes

I see nothing lost

all things become new

 

shall it be an 

ancient dream long forgotten

a dying hope being

renewed in my heart

 

a past thought delves

into the deep recesses

of my convoluted mind

creating a daylong smile

 

seeing my granddaughter for

the first time, screaming 

her head off, naked

under a warming light

 

or holding my wife

in a passionate embrace

beneath the flailing covers

until the blissful moment

 

watching a hummingbird dance

along the blooms of

Cypress Vine, gathering nectar

for her hungry young

 

the look of joy

on our child's face

staring at the presents

under our flashing tree

 

these moments fill our

mind, with a love

that can be new

visions for our lives

 

the old becomes new
