When You're on Cloud Nine

Marketing Me!

by Begin Again

Day One -

My first step in traveling to North Carolina was taking a bus to Chicago O'Hare airport. It's about an hour and fifteen minutes, and the bus is usually only half full. On Saturday, the bus was packed, and I chose a seat next to a young lady who was from Taiwan but had settled in Madison, Wisconsin, about three years ago.

We chatted, and she told me how the business she works for sent her to Chicago (downtown) about once a month for meetings. She says she travels by bus because she doesn't like the traffic. She also said it gives her time to listen to audiobooks or read.

I had a James Patterson book on my lap, and she asked if I enjoyed reading his books. I said yes, and he inspired me to write novels. Of course, the "newly published" author had to brag, so I showed her my book on Facebook.

She asked if it was for sale, and I, of course, said yes. She bought it right then, and it was an incredible feeling.

Unfortunately, no one else at O'Hare was that friendly, but it's a start. I just had to share. I promise to come off Cloud Nine soon, and you won't have to listen to me anymore.

Now, I'm back to vacationing with my great-granddaughters and trying to squeeze in writing time for "Miracles."

Life's good!
