Jersey 1939-1945
A chapter in the book Writings From the Heart
Dear old Gram,
by deepwater
Dear old Gram, A prisoner of war she learned to endure The heartaches and tyrannies of man Slaves kept on hand, injustice occupied her land She lived through this time for us all. Defending the meek and supporting the weak From the darkest of internment and toil The morning did come with a risen sun And a new wind blew over her land So we laid her to rest, and with tears all did say, we miss you Dear old Gram. |
