The sailor

The things you've seen the life you survived How history has rushed on through. The lessons you learned this world that has changed Did this make it better for you? You’ve lived the life of a sailor around the world you did sail From ship to ship,and port to port as wars just come and go You fight for God and Country that flag that flies so high So isolated from your family as you sail beyond the sky looking at this ocean and wondering why you're here The smell, the rage, the power, the tears That keeps drawing you back each year What of life on the main land after 30 years out here? You make a boat, console your life and go back to sailing the sea. |
