a red ape in my car
Mo the Orangutan
by mermaids
she sits in my car
red hair distinguishes her from me a primate of wisdom soul from a different jungle she seeks wild things while I stress out about life taxes mean nothing to her the comfort of the vehicle prevents the winter snow from reaching her under music disks she peers and smiles tunes are pleasurable she enjoys the variety of songs emoting from above her head my crazy driving bounces her around yet she still smiles in my hands she comforts me a miniature red ape dwelling in my camry traveling with a large human her life is full and interesting mascot of my car, ape of the road along she rides in enjoyment Mo the orangutan cousin distant and yet close comfort for a relative in a world gone mad |
