Foot Loose and Fancy Free

Barefoot and fancy free
At home on the ground or high in a tree Swimming in dams and making mud pies And sometimes the telling of little white lies With friends of mine as carefree as I We plucked the fruit for mulberry pie The leaves we used as food for our worms To spin the silk we took it in turns. School was a must but we weren't fussed Our teachers all did earn our trust We learned our tables one to twelve And were taught in books to delve. |
