Two 5-7-5 poems

Swiped but Recovered

A squirt to the eyes
A lady's gems are stolen
By a slick trickster.

But for a raised foot
Which led to a sudden fall
He would have escaped.

Writing Prompt
Please write TWO 5-7-5 poems.

The first one (three lines) is a dastardly/selfish deed, and the second one (three lines) is a come-uppance (revenge/justice).

That's SIX LINES TOTAL of 5 syllables, then 7 syllables, then 5 syllables, THEN the same again, making a TOTAL OF SIX LINES, AND 34 SYLLABLES.

TITLE MUST NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE TEXT.

ABSOLUTELY NO, I MEAN, 'NO' 'AUTHOR NOTES' ALLOWED.
