Home is where the heart is

Home Sweet Home

Home is more than merely a place
Comfort prevails and it just feels right
Travel may take one far and wide
But that front door is a welcome sight

Paintings hang in every room
Masterpieces they 're certainly not
They please our eye and give us joy
If seen as bad taste we care not a jot

Photographs framed, of every size
Hold the attention of passersby
Book cases grown with treasured tales
Fiction, non- fiction and science-fi

Every article has a story to tell
A biscuit barrel from days of yore
A weathered spoon of aged oak
A cowrie shell from a distant shore

Home is more than merely a place
The French have only a phrase for it
"Chez nous" just seems to welcome you
Like a candle ever lit
