The four stages of egg, larva, pupa and adult

The Saga of Silk

by persevere

They break the fine strands of protective cells

Flightless moths soon emerge to cohabit
And an array of pin point eggs are laid

In ten days the worms wriggle out
Mulberry leaves, supplied by human hand
are devoured with no respite

Skins shed before larvae pupate
Unbroken threads spun from cocoons

The saga of silk

Can You Tackle a CODARY? writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
A Codary is a poem consisting of nine lines...

Solitary line
Couplet
Tercet
Couplet
Solitary line

The last line must summarize the poem. Rhyming optional. Couplet and triplet must connect inside themselves. See example.

Obviously, few adults are left to break through the cocoons as the there would only be thread segments instead of up to 900m of fine silken thread per cocoon. Thanks to missjl for the illustration.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
