A Sound of Thunder

On the feast-day of Dagon they sent the boy Galath to fetch me.
In my blindness I stumbled and leaned heavily on him even more than usual, arousing the jeers and coarse abuse I had endured so often. The derision stung more than the wine flung in my empty eye-sockets.
Galath guided me to my place of 'honour'. I felt the smooth stone at the centre of the hall.
The strength of God coursed through me as I ripped off the head-covering which hid my locks and strained against the mighty pillars.
