Never waste a minute.
Five Minutes
by Sally Law
Minute one: He kissed me for the first time underneath a spring moon, and I never recovered.
Minute two: We ran in the rain with ice cream cones, trying not to drop them. He teased me, so I smashed him in the face with my Fudge Royal. Somehow, his Rocky Road landed in my hair and we laughed until we cried.
Minute three: "I love you," he said. "Marry me?"
Minute four: "My water just broke!" He escorted me to the car, reminding me to breathe.
Minute five: "And," the server continued, "how many years is 'a golden wedding anniversary'?"
