Sometimes Being Last is a good thing

Speed Thrills But Accuracy Kills

by Earl Corp

The author has placed a warning on this post for violence.
With the setting moon,
And the rising sun,
A gunfight will be soon,
I’ll face a hired gun,

In the street he’ll shout,
He’ll yell my name,
Bart, I’m callin' you out,
Afterwards it won’t be the same,

But I’m not coming out,
I’m stayin’ in the saloon,
It’s not I have a doubt,
I’m waitin' for high noon,

It’s almost that time,
To head out to the street,
Into the bright sunshine,
To see if Ringo can be beat,

But before I go,
I’ll have another beer,
Because we all know,
You’re dead many a year,

Now we’re face to face,
Everything has gotten still,
We’ve stepped off our pace,
One of us will go to Boot Hill,

I watched his eyes,
He slapped leather fast,
But those that are wise,
Know it’s about who stands last.
