In this shimmering brook
a fish I hope to entice for
supper, it would be truly good.

I'm not one for being too selective
I'll take any and all in my net
without a preference.

Freshwater fish is my favorite,
Because in ocean waves
I find I am not so stable.

I certainly will go far and wide
to cast a line into the mysterious depths
and find the perfect size fish to keep.

Should I hook a walleye, catfish, bass
or a trout, be sure you'll hear a loud
scream and shout.

Or should good fortune
turn her face to me,
I'll delight with a crappie or pike
to eat.

Either one you see,
will have me smiling so brightly
that I just might let that perfect fish
Go back to the deep for another fight.
