: How I Did Yell by Debra White

I fell flat on my arse this aft -
I felt so daft
and my girls laughed,
but OH!
It hurt
like hell.
How I did yell
and curse, as well -
I'm such a graceless so-and-so.

Author Notes
It's mostly all true... I slipped in the mud and fell hard onto my backside. The girls didn't actually laugh at me, but I did yell, cry and curse a little. I think I have a bruised coccyx and my wrist is also quite sore.

daft - foolish

My intention was to write a Novenary Reel, but I messed up and forgot a very important part of the form (see below between the asterisks) and line 3 sticks out a bit, so this is my Modified Novenary Reel - Please forgive me, Dolly's Poems ;) xx

The Novenary Reel - invented by Dollys Poems in 2020. A short poem made up of nine lines. The trick is to keep the shape of the bobbin reel using appropriate words.

* The first four lines describe the problem or subject and the last five lines, the solution or conclusion.*

Written in iambic meter, 8,4,4,2,2,2,4,4,8. The rhyme scheme is below:

x x x x x x x a
x x x a
x x x a
x b
x c
x d
x x x d
x x x d
x x x x x x x b
