This morning, I started a head-count
of chapters so far in my book.
I don’t know what prompted me to it,
though glad I decided to look -
‘cos chapter fourteen has gone missing!
I haven’t a clue where it went.
I can’t even think what it looked like.
My mem’ry is shattered and spent.
I feel like an overwhelmed mother
who’s taken her eye off the ball
and one of her mischievous children
is hiding, won’t come to her call.
I’m having to write a replacement.

and whilst it is evenly metered,
the rhyming and content are poor!
