Awakening at sunrise, I roll over in my bed. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, Happy Birthday in my head.   Today is no one’s birthday. Must be someone’s, but not mine. To the coffee pot I stray, For caffeine is all I pine.   Coffee pod, too small to read, no light or reading glasses. I persist…. I can't admit I need the light and glasses.   The pilgrimage to the switch. is made with sad surrender. Eyeglasses have found their niche. I stand and see, in wonder.   Amazing how so few things, I resisted, give me glee.  I rejoice as my heart sings A Happy Birthday to me!
