I waited on a lonely shore,
but all the ships just sailed on.
My dreams had promised more than this,
before long, all my hope was gone.
Then came the day you sailed in,
and beached your boat right next to me.
With eyes as blue as summer skies,
from loneliness, you set me free.
Upon the waves, both calm and rough,
we headed to a distant shore.
Not knowing what the future held,
but anxious we were, to explore.
We found a port, a harbor safe,
and made a life where dreams came true.
I think the ocean must have known,
that what I needed most, was you.
My empty days are gone for good,
you beached your boat right next to me.
With eyes as blue as summer skies,
from loneliness, you set me free.
