She made her bed in daffodils, sun’s warmth, wind’s chills; she’s tumbled down to earthen brown. In daffodils she made her bed, left words unsaid as there she wept, her secret kept. In daffodils, took her last breath, a scented death. She’s now too cold for crown of gold. Author Notes This is a poem about how the weight of responsibility can become too much to bear, and is inspired by William Shakespeare's famous quote from 'Henry IV' - 'Heavy is the head that wears the crown'. The illustration is my own.
