King Sawyer was the monarch of a kingdom by the sea
He ruled a million minions, and then he added three -
three more to do his bidding, a million not enough,
for he himself was occupied with more important stuff.

He had deep thoughts to think all day, too deep for "normal" folk,
about what shoes he ought to choose to match his velvet cloak.
He had no time nor energy to build his castle walls
so they'd withstand the fiercest waves aroused by ocean squalls.

A million minions set about to guard against the sea,
but when their efforts failed the test, he found the other three.
A million three set out to save the kingdom from the storm
while Sawyer searched for socks to keep his royal tootsies warm.

The minions toiled both day and night to fortify the walls,
for each one knew what he must do whenever duty calls.
The storm arrived at half past noon - its force the walls withstood.
The minions with their valiant work had saved the neighborhood.

When Sawyer woke from long night's rest, he heard the gladsome news
of all his men had done for him while all he'd done was snooze.
You'd think he'd raise a glass to praise their efforts by the sea,
but Sawyer took the credit since he'd found the extra three.

"I thought the thought that saved the day," was all their ruler said,
and then the King, who'd hardly woke, returned right back to bed.
If there's a moral to this tale, I guess that it must be,
it's best to be the one in charge than in the million-three.
