Ugly witch stirs her black pot,
adding stinky ingredients
into the hot, smelly bubbling water,
stirring and stirring her special broth.
Around and around the spiders turn,
then the wobbly worms,
a few flies for taste,
a rats tail, and a lizards tongue.
Cackling, the witch mutters to herself-
Erpity slurp
erpity slurp
"When sweet little forest fairy-Lavender-drinks my tasty broth, her wings will never flutter again."
Erpity slurp
erpity slurp
Creaking door opens,
the ugly witch steps into the sunshine,
her tall black hat
shields her from the sun.
The ugly witch scurries
into the magical forest to spread
her yucky witches brew onto the leaf,
Lavender will drink from.
Lavender, the forest fairy,
pops out from the flowers, humming a sweet tune.
Forest creatures awaken
in their peaceful surrounds.
Songbell, the little bluebird sings.
Stripey the bumble bee dips his head,
"good morning, how are you?"
is his question to the forest fairy.
Thirsty, Lavender picks up her leaf and
flies over to the river
with crystal clear water,
where frogs are basking in the sun.
Lavender swoops up water and drinks until she has quenched her thrist
Oh!
Lavender falls to the ground and
knows she can no longer fly.
Motionless and helpless,
her tears start to fall.
Lavender lifts her head-
"The witch has been," Lavender cries out!"
The ugly witch runs
out of the forest
as happy as can be,
muttering one more time.
Erpity slurp,
"The fairy has drunk my broth and shall never fly again."
Songbell flies to the little fairy's side.
"A message you must take
to the fairy king of the forest.
Need your help. Witches brew I have been fed. My wings can no longer flutter."
"Fly high, fly fast, Songbell."
Moongaze, the fairy king arrives
as the sun is going down.
Feeds Lavender the magical antidote
made of rose petals, strawberry juice and honey.
Moongaze and the forest creatures
stay by the fairy's side throughout the night,
hoping and praying upon moonbright,
Lavender will be able to fly once again.
Sun rises, awakens everyone in the forest, watch Lavender flying around, smiling down at them.
The ugly witch, hears the story how Lavender
has been saved by the King of the fairies and
has lost her cackle and now, is a very sad witch.
Alas!
The ugly witch vows to keep stirring her witches brew, making it stronger than before. She seems to have found her cackle again.
. Oh! no.
