Their vows newly spoken
the recently joined man and wife;
once having given the customary tokens
come together meeting heart to heart
and in the touching of lip to lip
as from the loving cup they do sip:
having promised from this day on never to part,
thus blending into one their lives
in this moment of wedded bliss
sealing forever with a kiss.
Their goodbyes once spoken
the long coupled man and wife;
their vows never having once been broken
come together meeting heart to heart
and in the touching of lip to lip:
drinking from each others eyes they do sip,
knowing that the time had now come for them to part,
as he prepared to leave this life
they shared one last moment of bliss
sealing forever with a kiss.
Their love not now spoken;
this pair, who'd once been man and wife;
whose separation remains no longer broken
come together meeting heart to heart
and in the touching of lip to lip
in granite these images are chipped,
from this time forward never more to be apart;
to be united in a new life:
waiting for that eternal bliss
sealing forever with a kiss.
