Exodus Twenty—

Author Notes
manusculpt (n.) a hand-carved inscription.

From the Latin manus=hand sculpere=carve. Coined by English essayist Thomas de Quincey in the mid-nineteenth century.

The Egyptians are of course, famous for their hand-carved stories. The ten commandments, found in the book of Exodus, are the only part of the Bible said to be written with "the finger of God" (Ex. 31:18), and hence, they too, are an example of manusculpt.
