There once was a dragsman, "Black Bart",
made stealing from coaches an art.
He used half the loot
to buy a new suit;
he really did look quite the part.

Author Notes
Today's word: dragsman (n.) a thief who steals from vehicles.
Black Bart's real name was Charles Boles. He made a career of holding up stagecoaches in California in the 1870s.
My much-treasured Christmas present for 2017 is a book by Paul Anthony Jones: "The cabinet of linguistic curiosities". Each page contains a descriptive story about some obscure or archaic word. It occurred to me it would be a fun exercise to try and write, each day, a poem featuring the "word of the day" from the book.
Thanks for reading.
