If this does not win, I will be very surprised! you met every contest rule and the poem's imagery is perfect. I never watch Dexter, but feel now as though I have. ann

My apologies.
I don't watch any television.
So, I am unsure if this is a good description.
But the poem flows well, and I enjoyed it.
Thanks so much for sharing with us.

How is it possible to like him so much...yet I did, and mourned that last show. I was waiting for him to get up, willing it. RIP Dexter.
You did a great job in capturing the theme, the character, and the conundrum. It was one of my favorite shows, for sure. Well, done. Best of luck in the contest.

I'm not sure if Michael C. Hall was able to separate himself from Dexter. Didn't you love the evil twinkle in his eye?

Thank you fellow Dexter fan! I love Michael C. Hall, but have a hard time separating him from his Dexter character. Have you seen the movie Gamer? He plays the villain in that movie and does in very well. Thanks so much for this great review. :)

You did a good job describing the show before the big reveal. I kind of figured it was Dexter. Overall very nice job. Good luck in the contest. Stay safe and stay healthy.

I LOVED this show! Wonderful tribute! I agree 100% about the ending. My God, what were the writers thinking. Cool idea incorporating some lines from the show!

I have never watched the show, but I understand the premise. This poem does the show justice and instills, in me, and desire to watch the show. The poem was great! A few thoughts: I struggle with this as well, but all 4 lines in the last stanza are so much shorter than the rest of the poem. Consistency flows so much better in poetry. On the same note, I have found that it can be okay to have a short line in a stanza, but if the the last line of a stanza is the shortest, it doesn't always flow well. Changing a couple of words can correct this, but I understand the challenge when keeping with a rhyme scheme. Overall though, it was fun to read. Good job.

Thank you for this great review. I agree with your assessment of the last stanza and I fixed it...I think! Although, one of my words turned red and I can't fix it...oh, well. Thanks again. :)

Can I read your fix?
