Good morning, Gretchen!
I'm back... just as I shared with you... with six beautiful stars to affix on your beautiful story.
So much of what you wrote resonated with me... the plot, the character of Ruby, and of course, your protagonist's wish to be a "daredevil." I must share that's monniker has always been a dream of mine, too. But it is your ending that I had to read no fewer than three times that made my heart sing...
Thank you for sharing this uplifting story that flows so well and holds much meaning...

Are you a daredevil Gretchen? I tend to lean on the side of caution. She decided to skydive. She didn't take her husband with her? I baulk at flying let alone do something so daring. Well done dear. Nancy:)

You have written a beautiful story with the powerful message you included in your author notes..."It is never too late." Your story starts out with a little girl who had a dream. You clearly and succinctly followed her life into her seventies where she fulfilled her dream of being called a daredevil. An enjoyable story.

What a wonderful story. I see a lot of myself in Ruby. It's apparent her husband had made the appointment. He knew her well. I'm game for almost anything, but jumping out of a perfectly good airplane isn't one of them.

You did an excellent job of setting up the story and taking us through Ruby's life. She wanted to be a daredevil and life got in the way for many years. I'm glad she got to be that daredevil and that her husband supported her. The last sentence is the perfect ending for Ruby.
