Thanks for your feedback - you're right, the characteristics of the smart Alec are not unique to men, there are many female smart Alecs around too - there really ought to be a feminine idiom!

This is a clever idea for a short poem and it reads well. However, I think that you could have done away with shortening 'everything' by saying something like 'he knew the whole works' and 'deliberate' by using something like 'purposeful'. The 'ps' of pear-shaped and purposeful would then have added some alliteration to the poem. Having said that I do like this short piece so well done
