I understand the characters in this story. And I think your sentence structure and wording is really good. Punctuation could use some work however the flow of the story runs very well

I''m glad to hear your foot is a little less painful now. That should continue to improve. Sounds like you're staying right on top of things, as infection can be a real danger. I'm so sorry that happened to you; you really didn't need that with everything else going on in your life now.
It seems like you died and went to heaven and woke up to a loving, motherly figure who is willing to give a complete stranger the love and care that your own mother never did. How wonderful for you to have found your way there; otherwise, things might have gone very badly for you. Let's hope you've found a stable situation where you can recuperate and also gain some sense of normal people who lead good lives. You are so deserving of that for a change. - Jim

Well done on your story. I'm so glad that you are finally getting to see the better part of humanity. It's out there, you just hadn't been subjected to it until that time. When I read the title Heaven's Gate, I wondered if you had gotten caught up in the cult by that name. Some years back there was a cult lead by a fellow named Applewhite who convinced a handful of people that they were going to be going to the stars or some such thing. It was a weird belief. They all ended up committing suicide I believe. Glad this wasn't about that. Have a blessed evening gal.
