I really enjoying this and I'm sure I would be if I was riding with Jane. I'm anxious to hear what Rachalle has to say when she has finally had enough of Jane. Those Yankies really do like the southern accent although I feel like they are making fun of me.

My kids make fun of my accent but that's okay. I like my accent. Thank you for this. Gretchen

It's a cute and amusing story with some relatable clips like wanting to put her annoying passenger through the windshield and attracting boys with her southern accent. There is very little tension here. I would like to know the thoughts of some of the characters. Not enough happens externally, except for the blaring of the rock song and loud clapping so...? Maybe one of the characters could offer a memory? I don't know. I really like your beginning (also very relatable) Though I disagree with the New York vibe. Most New Yorkers are kind and helpful and quite well-mannered.

I loved that you took the exit on two wheels, causing that annoying Jane to reach for the Oh Shit handle. My favorite was Rachelle calling shotgun. Jane had never seen it coming. I will be impatiently waiting for the come to Jesus talk.
God bless,
Steve

I might suggest we send her off on a scavenger hunt and leave her. Gretchen

This is a very cute and well written chapter my friend. There is something about a lady say ya'll. I know because I have lived in Tennessee most all of my life. Great job. love and blessings, Teri

I love that side of you, Gretchen, that wants to throw Jane through the windshield! The Jane character has made this story so amusing--the ultimate self-absorbed, clueless, obnoxious person who you just love to hate.

I loved your description of visiting NYC. I'm originally from Long Island (or Luong Guyland as it is typically pronounced), and what you observed was very accurate. I prefer NC personally, as there are too many Jane types in NY for my liking.

Great description of Jane's being an attention whore who you were even "waiting for her to start juggling or spinning plates for attention."

A very fun chapter.

Thank you so much. I know a few Jane's and they want attention no matter how they get it. It gets old. I'm from Richmond, VA and I like the pace of eastern N.C. better. Just feels like home. Gretchen

I see now what happened before that Rachelle was so quick to call "shotgun" to bring more peace in the car for the rest of the journey. I like how both your versions dovetail each other's with the same time period covered from a different viewpoint.

We each focus on what grabs our attention. This has been so much fun to write. Rachelle is a great co conspiracy. Gretchen

Hello Gretchen,
I understand your feelings perfectly well concerning the old wind bag. I don't think I could handle having her in my car for one more minute. Actually, after dinner, I think I'd sneak out with Rachelle and leave her behind. She's so incredibly obnoxious that she makes fingernails on the chalkboard sound good. Well done gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

She is terrible, isn't she? I'm all for your idea, but Rachelle is too nice. We all know the road to hell is paved with good intentions. She'll learn the hard way. Lol. Gretchen

I know what fantasies we can have about what we'd do to someone we don't like. Poor Jane seems to specialize in annoying others, and she doesn't even realize how disturbing she is to others. She must have quite a house, if hers looks better than Maria's. I'm glad Maria told her off when she tried to interject herself. If course, Maria's first concern was getting to know Rebekeh and getting her to feel welcome. I'm enjoying the humor in this. judi

Thank you, Judi. Jane is such a goddess in her own eyes she has no idea she isn't in anyone else's. Lol. Gretchen

Jane is so obnoxious.... i can'tstand her. I hope she is not a real person.

I used to let people walk all over me ... i was a people pleaser too, when I was young, not anymore.

"She's an attention whore" hahaha

Well done!

Jane is based on about four different people. I took the worst of each of them and Rachelle added a few details and voila! Jane Babies was created. I do know one thing. She only has to open her mouth to be hated. Pretty powerful villain. Gretchen
