LOL! I don't think that was the reply Colleen expected! Poor Miranda, she has just been doused with two litres of Dr Pepper, and looks and feels a mess. What with no sleep, she is definitely not receptive to anything. But OMG if someone came to see me with a cheque for that amount, my smile would be brighter than the sun! Loved this chapter, Gretchen, it had lots of fun parts in it, not that Miranda would agree, and a few surprises. Very well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

I think Miranda is in shock. It will hit later. Lol. Thank you for this nice review. Gretchen

Please Miranda. Take the money and run. Coleen is three kinds of stupid for doing this in a public way. Go home, clean up, go to the bank, deposit the check. You have still not read my chapter for your book. " Conventionally Yours". Karen

My goodness. A fabulous chapter with very vivid details - I can picture everything so well. Sorry I am out of sixes. Had to laugh about "Thank goodness I am here to ruin that illusion." Now how long is she going to hide in that restroom? Super chapter.

Some things are just too much for Miranda. Two hundred and fifty thousand dollars has a nice sound, and she could certainly use it, but she can't believe her luck has so radically changed. This is so different from all Miranda's other experiences. I can't wait to see how Miranda handles this.

This is a good issue to be discussing: ""Rita, he was hitting on you."

She frowns. "No, he was just being friendly."

"He was that. But did you notice when I said you were married, it was time to hit the road. How many times do I have to tell you sometimes friendly isn't really friendly? Sometimes its an old creep on the road trying to hit on a pretty girl."

Rita is the opposite of Miranda. They are a good balance. Thank you for this. Gretchen

Wonderfully humorous episode with the Dr Pepper, deserving of a post in its own right! I could feel the discomfort of that soaking! Then our anticipation of more to come but hardly expecting this jackpot of a surprise. No wonder she needed the restroom! A thoroughly enjoyable read! Debbie

I hate the sound of my shoes when they get something sticky on the bottom. Then the liquid as it dries would drive me crazy. Hope that came through. Lol. Thank you so much, Debbie. Gretchen

Wow! that is a lot of cash. I know you need to do something about that sticky Dr. Pepper, but I have a feeling that reaction wasn't whan anyone anticipated, especially the photographer. I'm not sure where you found there so since this is part of the story I don't know. I do remember something later about a car in a lake. I hope when Miranda gets cleaned up she at least thanks them for the gesture.

Miranda found a missing man's body and that's where the reward came from. It's from the first Miranda book. Thank you so much. Gretchen

I don't know why it is that I don't ever have a six when I need it most. It must have something to do with all the bad things I've done throughout my life. It's paybacks. It's like standing naked to the world, so people people can point out my shortcomings, or largest mistakes.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow, this is a shock and I was wondering who Ms Barkley was, glad you explained that. This is a little bit of good fortune for Miranda and she has been overcome with emotion, another fine chapter Gretchen, love Dolly x
