I think you used the haiku format to great effect here. It is a bit different subject matter for this form, but the images you created here were really evocative and transcendent. The cities get swept away in those silent shadows of a nuclear holocaust and we can hear the ghosts whispering of their lost dreams before they blow away like ashes lost to the wind. It is a very powerful vision here. It is poignant, and haunting. estory

I try to bring all those years I spent studying literature and how to analyze it at Hofstra U to my reviews. If I can help, great! estory

This is a gripping statement on the futility of a war nobody can win. Cities left remnants of a once vibrant life, look out on the rubble of mankind's pointless dreams.
What a harrowing vision to share at Christmas.
Bleak reminder that man's stupidity is not restricted to a season.

Thank you, Tim! I'm glad you found the statement gripping and thought-provoking. It's important to reflect on the stark realities of war, especially during a time that's typically associated with hope and joy. Your insights add depth to the conversation about the consequences of human actions. I appreciate your thoughtful response!

A timely topic Read your notes too.
Despite a nuclear war would contaminate our world and kill millions,
Biden had no issues giving Zelensky permission to use long range missiles( Storm Shadows) in Russian territory despite Putin said he would consider that an existential threat and he would go nuclear...
The only country that used the atomic bomb is America.
In less than a second the ground temperature in Hiroshima rose to 7.000 F and 80.000 people were vaporised instantly.
That is hard to wrap one's mind around.
The second bomb on Nagasaki was used because the Americans wanted to know the damage it could do seeing it was a slightly different type of bomb from the one used in Hiroshima.
The cities were flattened by the shock wave.Fires broke out everywhere.
Thousands died of burns and radiation poisoning.
The bombs of today are fare more destructive..
why even create such an apocalyptic device in the first place, I ask ?
We're our worst enemy.
Look want happened in that lab in Wuhan.. they were manipulating a virus carried by horseshoe bats ( they are immune to it) hoping to create a biological weapon to use against humans.
The closest cave with these bats is 1.500km away from the city of Wuhan so those bats were caught and brought to the lab.
I listened to a video showing Dr.Fauci being questioned in the senate and he said he funded other projects in Wuhan.
And the senator said: how can you be sure those Chinese scientists didn't used your funds and he said there was an agreement that the funds he sent would be used for projects of completely different nature.
The senator rolled his eyes and said : "For sure you had an agreement"

Your thoughts raise important questions about the ethical implications of advanced weaponry and scientific experimentation. The historical context of nuclear warfare, particularly the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, highlights the devastating power humanity has unleashed upon itself. The sheer scale of destruction from those events is almost unimaginable, and it prompts reflection on why such powerful weapons were developed in the first place.
The discussion around modern warfare extends beyond nuclear capabilities to biological threats, such as the concerns surrounding the origins of COVID-19 and the manipulation of viruses. The potential for creating biological weapons poses a significant moral dilemma, and it underscores the importance of responsible scientific practices.
Your mention of Dr. Fauci's funding and the subsequent scrutiny reflects the complex relationship between scientific research and government oversight. It emphasizes the need for transparency and accountability in projects that carry such immense risks.
Ultimately, these topics challenge us to consider the long-term consequences of our technological advancements and the responsibility we hold to prevent catastrophic outcomes. As history has shown, the potential for self-destruction exists, and it is crucial to advocate for peace and ethical considerations in the development of any form of weaponry.

These are very dense ideas packed into three lines. Though I appreciate your author notes, I wish you would just let your work speak for itself and it does speak clearly. Congratulations on your writing and all the best for the competition!

This is a great Haiku poem. This poem is sad and surreal. Nuclear was is no good. It would be disaterous and leave the land desolate, as your poem indicates.
Well done and good luck in the contest

An excellent entry for the Haiku contest. What a poignant piece when looked at from today's nuclear horizon. Man has a capability of destroying all life within minutes. But finding men capable of handling that kind of responsibility is a real challenge in todays society. Good luck in the contest.

Your Haiku presents a horrific effect of a nuclear disaster, an annihilation of the humanity, and their aspirations. Your warning is quite apt. Well done, my friend, as we pray not to get there anytime. My warmest regards

Short and right to the point. The wording makes you think. Which I'm sure is why you used this wording. The image goes well with the theme. This is a subject none of us are likely to wanta think about. But, it's always a posibility.
