I wish I could write a poem like this about my parents but I can't. I loved it. It was short yet sweet. You said enough without saying too much. Great job

Hullo Deepwater ...
I specially like the photograph which you have at top, taken at a time when young women looked graceful and feminine in the clothing they wore.
There is nothing to suggest changing in this short work and, as it is a Contest entry, I wish you well.
Thank you for sharing your memories with us.
With love from .... Nanette Mary.

Nice little poem. I love old pictures and I've always felt each one has a story to tell. If only we knew what it was in some cases....

Wonderful picture and this time period
sure takes me back. I remember as a kid
marching alond the boulevard with an
American flag at war's end. I remember my
Uncle in his Marine uniform that so impressed
me that I later became a Marine. Quite a time
to grow up in and all those that served it is
always all in the time we're born.

Your short poem is lovely. Reading the contest rules I see that the poem has to be no longer than fifteen words and you used fourteen, well done and good luck.

Comment from Peter Burger
With the picture, it kind of makes me imagine a woman in the 50's walking along the ocean. I somehow get that salty gust in the air as view the piece as a whole, picture included. The birds are seagulls overhead, gliding the tides, swimming in the wind. Fits the criteria, faith/love - emotive, philosophy, good word selection, you don't get much with this contest

Good usage of word economny. You can further reduce one word by deleting "do" in the second line without taking away from the meaning.
In its brevity, you offer awesome imagery and speak volumes. It was my pleassure to read this short love poem.
