Strong rhyming scheme, fluid passages, important message, and well, just an excellent entry. I think it reads smooth, conveys spirit, and is a solid read. Good luck in the contest.

Great piece. I like the imaginary. The image of the sun, especially where I am now and the inclement weather, brought a brightness and happiness at this moment. Great work.

Life has it's ups and downs but we struggle through the bad times so we can enjoy the good times. Although we sometimes may think the good times are few, it's not always true, it is just that the bad ones stick in our mind more.
Your poem was well written and I thought dirrect.
Good luck in the contest.

This is a lovely poem, with smooth couplets in iambic tetrameter. The poem had a lilting effect to it and was easy to read.
I enjoyed the uplifting tone of the words. Very encouraging for any reader, I believe. Life should be precious moments we hold tight and close. Yet, in letting go, we learn to live even more.
My favorite couplets were
"To walk alone on barren ground
A heart will cry, without a sound" and
"So thankful is the heartened one
To live and laugh, beneath the sun ..."
I truly enjoyed this poem. I love the presentation and artwork as well. Good luck in the contest. All the best, JeJo

Susan,
I reviewing all of the nominations for the Poem of the Month contest. Your poem is beautifully written. I see why this was nominated for the contest. Gorgeous art work and presentation. Excellent rhymes. I enjoyed the first, second, forth and fifth stanzas. What a poignant read filled with marvelous metaphors. Good luck in the voting booth. I intend to read all before voting, but yours is in the top three for me and I may have to toss a coin to vote for my pick. Thanks for sharing you poetic art.
