This was very good. I laughed so much. I don't know a lot about rugby, but get to know more as you made it so interesting. Well written and presented. Well done! :-)

Steve: I have to admit that this is one write I desperately needed the author's notes for. Though some of it came through loud and clear, you'd still have to be a fan of the sport to "get it". LOL. And, for something this detailed, it truly was an intriguing write for me. I did, all on my own, understand the fish and chips bit!!! What fun this was and super well written!!! What a trip!!!

Alright I enjoyed that from begining to end. Don't know much at all about rugby except that I see a few teams forming here on my island. Of course they are not at the level of the rugby players you watch. Very fun poem to read.

Thank you for your review - what 'island' would that be? I have a theory about people who live on islands - used to be one myself.

Not familiar with the teams and contest. We play a different kind of football in the U.S. Yours, however, is gaining in popularity. In any case, your work was well written and I enjoyed reading it. Thanks for sharing.

Clever and informative. Your skill with words is phenomenal. The rhyme was excellent and I felt as though I was sitting there, watching the game.

Ha ha! :D Lovely! Great traditional rhythm - just like the great old Australian poems of long ago (and not so long ago too!). I'm not into sport, but thoroughly enjoyed this - as I think I've said before, you have an amazing talent.

Just returned from watching the match at my In-Laws' place - a little gloomy 'cos we lost, but it was a good match - we'll beat them next time!

Held my interest, even though I'm not into sports. Like the Aussie sounds. I just wrote down the fush and chups vs.. feesh and cheeps. I love accents and this made me laugh.

Thank you - Australians also can't say 'six' (seex) and mostly pronounce the name of their own country as Stray-ya!

CongratulaThat KiwiSteve, an writing such a pearler! (Even if only some of us Aussies know what you're talking about.) The wording of this is really clever and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it. Well done!

Thanks Giddy, for the review and the six stars - should be a good night tonight - Go Kiwis!!

That is absolutely brilliant. And a tad optimistic in your prediction (I hope)
Fortunately for us Aussies we suffer from a severe case of memory loss when it comes to trophies, either that or we allow our Kiwi cousins a MINOR victory every now and then, a reward for your contributions to the ANZAC history.
Really I found this poem extroardinarily good. It's meter and rhyme were outstanding. As was its adherence to fact, you guys have deservedly won the trophies you hold.
Were seven stars available I would have awarded them.
Great

I find it strange that we NEVER do well in this annual fixture, despite rising to the occasion in other MAJOR tournaments!
Thanks for your enthusiastic review and the six stars - - this may have a limited audience, so I appreciate everything I get.

No Rugby fan but love Cricket; your composition is a marvel; wonderful story of friendly competition that you reflected in your lively verses full of tease and joy, beautifully rhymed. Thanks for sharing and all the best for your team.

Well Kiwis got into the semi-final of the recent World Cup cricket as well, whereas Australia crashed out at the quarter-final stage...
I love to keep reminding them of such small victories. if we'd made it to the final I would certainly have composed a poem - Vettori/Story, Ganguly/unruly - now what rhymes with Tendulkar?
Thanks for the review
