Two of the most despicable characters in literature. I'll take Charlotte, Emily's sister any day. Charlotte wrote Jane Erye. One of the first books with a strong female. Making it on her won.

Incredibly difficult prompt when you come to think about it, but you have had a good stab at it. How could you hope to squeeze in even a hint of the foreboding setting (which would have been marvellous) in a 5-7-5?
