A funny but true story no doubt. The mouse are stealing my cat food every night too. Any unfinished food left outside will be eaten completely. What a way to celebrate nature without wastage. This doggy door masked bandit is one notch up in intelligence in stealing the pet food, smiles.
Cheerio, great write and well penned. Good luck!
Hugs, bro Ritchie. :))

Well that's a short story! I know these challenges are difficult to do.
I interpret it as this:
Something unknown got through the dog door/cat flap and kept stealing pet food, it was the same MO (?) everynight.
MO = midnight owl?

Mode of Operation a law enforcement term. Although I like Midnight Owl, the thief was probably a raccoon with a bandit mask, ringed eyes. So glad you took the time to read and think about this very short story challenge..

In re Doggy-door bandit, I knew someone who came home from work to find a opossum snoring in a laundry basket full of clothes. She threw laundry basket, opossum out the front door - including underwear - unto the front yard. Came through the doggy door. Anyway, you welcome for the review & again, best wishes in the contest. This is one of my favorites so far. This is such a challenging prompt! You manage quit a bit with your allotted words. Here there is a setting, a plot and even a villian. Good luck in the contest.

How 'fun' is that. LOl I have a friend in Arkansas that shares their pet food with a black bear. He won't fit through the doggy door altho he has tried. Thanks for the good wishes.

Pesky raccoon is too smart for his own good. I've heard of them using pet doors and steeling food. He is likely to get caught one of these nights. Good job with the prompt. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks for the good wishes, I am delighted you enjoyed this one. (You are correct, it is a raccoon. :-)
Comment from Matthew M.
What is interesting is that it might be any kind of animal such as cat, possum, raccoon, rat, hundreds of mice, millions of fast running ants. Since it is masked, I am guessing raccoon. Fun story.
