If only this were longer to savor the wonderful mystique and tranquility of the abstruse metaphorical references therein. Oh the joy yet mystery of winter, the solace, the singularity, the obsequiousness to frigidity. If it weren't so it would definitely be and there it is. What a wonderful lune from a luney master and poet whose command of the genre is both legendary and germain as well. Excellent job.

All out of sixes, or I would bestow one on this lovely poem of how the soul listens to the spirit's whispers. I we but quiet ourselves, we can learn much from nature's beauty.

Only one soul hears a whisper when snow fills the park.
Who is that only soul? Please I would like to know?
Tell me?
Congratulations on your winning!

Hi, MagKing. Thank you for your congrats and for sharing my poem. If you reread the poem, you will notice that the word is "one's" and the word refers to the Speaker's soul. In this scene, he alone hears the whisper of falling snow. RodG

Congratulations in winning the contest, Roy. Sorry I missed it; but you won anyway :-) I usually walk in the park at winter time, I love the echo of my steps. The only soul I hear is mine...selfish?

Hi RodG

A beautiful lune conveying great sentiment in a wistful and enigmatic manner
Excellent 'o' alliteration in "only one's and assonance with soul", "whisper/when", "soul/snow with consonance of 's' in one's/hears/whispers/fills". Excellent coupling with your gorgeous image. One can hear the whisper in the echo created by your poetic technique. I love your notes and the belief of the Native Americans expressed in them. You have captured the spirit of this belief in your Lune.

A worthy winner. Congratulations. Warmest Regards - Lovinia xoxoox

Congratulations on a well deserved win. My experience with poetry is minimal. But, I am developing a taste for it. And a Lune Poem is interesting. I certainly liked yours. Concerning your question: There are many times I am alone in the woods, but I'm not alone. What winter or nature, says to me is "It's a good day." Best wishes.

I love the picture. I love to the poem. I am American Indianan. Water is spiritual. They tell me good messages. Snow is heavy spirits. They protect the barren land. The living protects and respect the souls. Great work.

Your poem is in good 5/3/5 syllable count for the Lune
nice alliteration in whisper when
vivid detail of setting that creates mood beautifully

Very descriptive of the effect nature has on the soul if one only stops and listens. Nicely written lune. Best wishes in the contest.

This is a creative & original poem mostly becuz of the "whispering" part . . . it really provokes thought . . . applying to the outdoor situation described, or even perhaps about those times when some part of our lives is "snowed in". Thanks for sharing & good luck in the contest.
