Hello Anupam,
I enjoyed your proclamation of your future, for it would seem that you have discovered the key to success...your belief in yourself. A persons "self-talk", or what we repeatedly say to ourselves in our minds, has much to do with our perception of life, and how we are able to appreciate the gifts, therein. You conquer defeat by merely telling yourself, "That was a hell of a learning experience" and move on to the next challenge. True, some lessons are more painful than others, but pain is the only thing I know that builds strong character, if you survive,(painful lol). Nice job with this emotionally charged write...best wishes, Bill

This is deserving of a 6, but I am out...sorry. I love the positive and uplifting tone of this. I have not seen the movie but have heard the song. You have done a superb job with this as both a poem and song. You have such amazing talent, I cannot help but be a little envious!!!

I love the message of your poem of rising from despair and living in joy. Your excellent rhyming helps it to flow well from start to end. Thanks for including the link to the song, your words are a perfect match for it.

Simply beautifully expressed. Odd, how music can be a muse for our writings. One of my favorite lines: "I will live for happiness" what a freeing expression. It does melt the ice and allows the soul to soar. Loren

Hi Anupam :)
Guess what song I have stuck on repeat in my head now?? Thanks!
This is a great song/poem - so much positivity and drive. I loved it :)
My most favourite part;
Perfection is not the thing I require anymore--
I will live for happiness, as life is an open door.
So so true - perfection is overrated anyway!
There's one word that kind of sticks out to me 'vicissitude' I hope you don't mind me saying that whilst it is a great word (albeit one I had to look up!!) it seems to be a little out of place. I don't mean it in a bad way, it just seems too 'grand' a word in the midst of the level of all your other word choices... does that make sense?!
Loved it though.... love Debs x
Let me know if this embedded ok from youtube...

Hi, Debs. :)
I know this song is just mesmerizing. Glad you enjoyed the real one and mine as well. Did you find it matching the original tunes. I would really like to know.
I agree that 'vicissitude' is a bit 'heavier', but I could find no other word which rhymed with 'solitude' and matched the context as well. It was the only choice, so went for it.
I have now embedded the video. Thank you for the help. I am using an Android-tablet these days, and couldn't locate the embed option. I really appreciate your sweet gesture. :)
Let the three little angels here the original score. I'm sure they will love it, or perhaps they have already heard this one.
Thank you for this lovely review. :)

You're welcome Anupam :) x
ps. The kids know this song... on the last afternoon of school before the Easter holidays, they were allowed to watch Frozen. Katie prances around the house singing 'Let it Gooooo, Let it Gooooo' like a mad woman, dramatics and everything!
Thanks for your comment about vicissitude - I completely understand - hope you wasn't offended by my remark :)

I never get offended by any suggestions. :)
We are here to help each other and suggest the possibility of being better and better.
So glad to know Katie loves this song...I am also in love with it. :) This song was on the top of charts for so many weeks.
Enjoy the day! :)

I love the movie Frozen . It appeals to everyone. The little child on one level and adults as a metaphor...choose happiness as your poem suggests.
I love your line about not seeking perfection anymore...so well done
God bless

Good end rhyming. Good perfect rhyming with night/right...fine/mine. Good simile use with like light hiding in the moonless night. Good strong lyrics. Solid chorus. Good complimentary photo. Good job.

This is lovely and musical. Excellent work with the rhyme. Your version of the Disney songs reminds me that I haven't kept up with the recent Disney songs and movies. I watched an episode of "Dancing With the Stars" in which they danced to Disney songs, but I was familiar with just a few, older ones. The song celebrates reaching for your dreams. The repeating lines of "I will rise, I will shine" are very motivational and upbeat. judi

My granddaughter (2yrs)'requests that we play "frozen"every day, and particularly this song, so if anything I am ultra familiar with this song! It lines up with the original as a song that is very positive overtones! Your poem is well written and should do well in this competition! Well done, blessings, Roy.
