You paint a beautiful picture of the Sunflower... I love the natural flow and splendid rhyme scheme... I appreciate the cool ending and can learn a great deal from your work.

I delight in your ending and it reminds me of the last verse of a poem I posted a while ago.

But the story's too long to put in a song,
and my usual goal is for laughter.
So I'll end this crap with the standard wrap:
they all lived happily ever after.

I love your 'light and silly!' I also love the way the sunflowers go from 'in the field' growing, to in your mouth, eating! This is cute!

Thanks Irish Rain... I'm so glad you enjoyed this one. I literally put the salted and roasted ones on salads and so many things. I love them. Did you think the one with the sunglasses looks a little like me? LOL

I haven't had great luck with sunflowers my self. But I bought a couple of packs of seeds last year. They didn't do so well. Then I found out, 'nothing happens 'til ya plant them.' LOL
So glad you liked this one Linda my friend.
    Love you, Carolyn

This work has reached the exceptional level

Lovely imagery in a fluently rhyming and cheerful poem. "Bouquets to brighten our world", "I dream of Sunflowers bright and tall, Smiling and nodding to greet us all". A writing that makes me smile!

    Hi Sarah,
Smiles are good, especially if one of my poems brought it to a readers face.

Carolyn, I had to smile with you on this one. I can't say as I like the seeds, never tried them, but the flowers are nice. Lovely picture to go with your poem. Great rhythm and rhyming. I enjoyed reading it. Miss Sally

If you are of a mind to try them, and have no seed or nut allergens, get out of the shell, roasted and salted. I put them on salads quite often.
Thank you for liking this one.

This really brought a big smile on my face.
Very humorous but also very true.

We are living in Kansas, and there are a quad
kadillion sunflowers that grow here. My
Sunshine loved sunflowers; even tried to grow
some when living in Az.

If this was submitted for a contest, you
definitely have my vote.

Your appreciative Friend, Jerry

    Thanks Jerry,
I'm so happy you liked this one. Yes, we have seen the sunflower fields in Kansas. Amazing. I have also seen them in Ukraine. Anywhere they are its a brighter day.
