This is an amazing poem, Michael!
"choreographed wings my soul
eye-witness departure
ritual one breathes... "
I love the usage of the word " choreographed". Very artistic.
"surrounds wind cousins
uniformed chaos calls the wild wife"
"Surrounds wind cousins" is a very unique phrase, highlighting the connection between the motions of the birds and the movements of the wind.
A fascinating poem

Okay Michael!
How are you today?
I have so many reviews to catch up on. Back on my turf and resting from the long week.
First I would love to comment on the song and how it has influences your work.
The song begins with, I am learning, so I'm leaving
And even though I am grieving
I am trying to find the meaning Let loss reveal it
The song goes on to speak of St Jude, the patron St. Of Lost causes.
One understands the storm and emotional turmoil in life, especially in romantic relationships. The songs say quite a bit, for in it, two are in the same place but can't seem to get to the same understanding as the storm swirls around them.
Where is St. Jude's blessing because it appears as if her presence causes much more devastation than a mutual understanding and it becomes a lost cause.
This is where your beautiful poem comes into play.. and hoping to not embarrass you or reveal too much of personal and private issues,
It is one in which I can relate and it touches me greatly. So, I am putting it out here.
I am going to break down your free verse bit by bit.
The first
"bird swarm drawn
intellect succumbs to instinct
sudden raptures interest"
Most interesting metaphor
How can such a tiny creature
Have such intellect? But it isn't intellect, it is instinct which drives them to survival. However, we as humans, when in the throws of hurt or even survival, ignore our logic, our intellect, and let our imperfect will take the helm. Words and hurts fly, caught up in the whirlwind of debris, both lost hearts caught up in a rapturous but daunting flight of ill fate. Where is St Jude?
She rushes in for the lost cause, but the battle ensues and there is never a winner, never. So who cares who fired the gun? Heh?
"choreographed wings my soul
eye-witness departure
ritual one breathes...
catch and release perfect life
surrounds wind cousins
uniformed chaos calls the"
Perfectly place words. Perhaps one is always swirling or dancing in this chaos and know not one thing different except begging for peace of mind and solitude. An island of serenity where upon the daily ritual could be self-exploration and finding oneself without another.
You and I have been there, haven't we? The Latin term is called Ceteris paribus. I call it logical reduction, human relations, the driving force of relationships whether romantic or friendship can sometimes be a potent flammable product of anguish and of hurt.
Just as we have discussed, not only I, but you, need time away, solitude to find you again and to decide what kind of life you want to create at this moment in your life. Me too. I am at a point of peace and reveling in my solitude. I have, also found, a great friend, one in you.. in which I will be forever grateful to God. It took a few twist and turns to get there and let go of crazy Cinderella dreams, and now I love it!
I love your term, "uniformed chaos calls the wild life" Birds in flight are actually uniformed chaos and perfectly synchronized, but it is not that way with relationships. Despite how pretty you wrap it up, or let's say someone else wraps it up to her friends, it is beneath the surface chaos. Both parties become wild and gnashing.
Look, I told your friend, how much you love her as a great friend, but you need time to find you! To find you! Romance is the last bastion of creation you want to think about at this moment.
Your friend doesn't get it, because as the song say, lost before it even started.
Hurt and devastation are powerful persuasions of solitude and self- discovery. Loss reveals it.
I do hope wisdom and loving kindness enters your friends psyche and she realizes a romantic interests, or trying for one, or demanding one, is or can destroy a priceless friendship.
I, for one, understand. I want your friendship. I value your friendship. You take that sabbatical and find you. Let St. Jude live up to her name and fill you with hope and a new day for a brighter future and when this happens, you just might find that special someone. Tell HER, it's time to quit dreaming and hating
And let go... Just Breathe..
"betrothed since inception first experienced
Saint Jude's blessing
forehead kissed heartbeat freed"
now that is food for thought! another exceptional write my friend!!!
Hope you take me up on my invitation to come sailing in July. You will love it. Oh, and do not worry, I will find someone for you to dance with on the boat, cuz I have a dancing partner already, okay?
Love you dear friend. Jimi

Saint Jude's a He...thought be to cousin of Jesus. perhaps one of the "Twelve" certainly one of the seventy"...but I suppose anyone feeding from the power of Jeasus, he or she...could be someones lost cause savior.........-smile- ahh Jimi.....you are my friend, i miss our back and forth sometimes. Sailing....-smile-....while you dance with someone else....sounds dangerous...what the hell hiost anchor....love Michael
-
well St Jude in the song is a girl!!! Dammit a girl!!!!
one of the twelve.. was not that Judas?
anchors away.. you do not want me to be the anchor watch, one glass of wine and I am liable to fall overboard, forever adrift in the sea of confusion.
Well maybe when we are dancing with our partners we can dosey -do, change our partners to and fro! You know I use to square dance? yepp sirreee.. I am Texan you know, but I also took ballet as a child so I did the tippee toe square dance.. quite difficult..

Hi Michael,
yeah, my Brother when I come to feast at this table... I know I'm going to get unique quantity of quality in the delight I am about to digest... lost in the thought of 'lost causes' and random chaos that presents the formula to allowing yourself to fly regardless... as always my most talented and original friend... your word combinations stir emotion that leaves one lingering in the middle of our masters air... Outstanding!
With our thoughts we create,
natural order,
James.

My friend. No mistaking the form. Your cryptic, report style has an air of invincibility about it, which causes the reader to read at least twice, for, my friend...its well worth reading. Formidable, as usual. I am learning your code, and understanding it as if I was writing it myself.
Bravo.
