How amazing was Rodin's sculpture of The Kiss? From a block of marble comes beauty and a tale to tell. I love the best sculpture of David (Michelangelo) So many beautiful works of art came through those days when man was primitive compared with us today. Computers can't even get close to a man with a chisel. Brilliant my friend.

Ah - that depends on the man and on the chisel! I think I'll stick to the computer! LOL
It was wonderful seeing so many of Rodin's sculptures at one time and in one place. The garden setting in brilliant summer sunshine added an extra element of enjoyment.
All the best, Tony

-Very nice choice of artwork, Tony.
-Thanks for the author note, too.
-A well penned poem for the contest.
-I like how you balance the art
and love, and give examples
to show each, like the spires
and carillons.
-Art and life are then united
in your couplet, "renewed in Rodin's Kiss."
-I enjoyed this poem; good luck in the contest.

Many thanks, Pam, for your kind words and six stars. It was a real privilege seeing so many of Rodin's sculptures in one place while we were in Paris. The surreptitious kiss of the young lovers was an unexpected bonus!

You are very welcome, Tony. It must have been wonderful to see such art. How many countries did you visit?

Hello Tony,
A perfect subject for a poem/sonnet
I think the thinker's thoughts may have strayed
to this more fulfilling pose.
We have a Rodin museum in Philadelphia, too.
I've often written about balance being one
of the fundamental principles of the existence.
It good to read Rodin agrees.
Beautiful poem, wish I had a six left

Your inspiration inspired me to sit and muse and read again...and ponder how strong the pull of art and passion are, and how magical when they fuse together in that mystical way of the arts! Lovely poem...I am so glad you shared it!

Thanks, Karenina. Seeing the effect that art has on people enhances my enjoyment of it. Somehow the art becomes more personal. Best wishes, Tony

Good evening, Tony
A superb piece of poetry, centred on, Rodin,s statue of 'The Kiss = the ultimate embrace. The magnificence and semblance of love are felt by your two lovers that are drawn towards each other, further, as they stand in awe.
Doesn't get much better than this, Tony. Bravo.
Creative word use and sound, meter.
All the best

Well . . . this is the definition of perfection and I have no sixes left to offer. This is very nicely done. I do not profess to give advice on something I am not capable of producing. This is exquisite! Very nicely done and good luck!

I really enjoyed how this work flowed so well and does a great job representing the photo as lovers inter twined. I wish you well in the contest and this seems like a strong entry.

Hi, Tony,
I absolutely love this statue, and when I saw it in France, I wasn't disappointed at all. I used to have a replica, but it has gotten lost over the years.
Your poem was a beautiful tribute to this piece and truly belongs in the Love Poem poetry contest. Good luck to you,

Many tanks, Patty. It certainly is a lovely statue. I was lucky to be able to see so many of Rodin's works in the museum in Paris that is dedicated to them - many of them set in natural surroundings in the gardens.
