This five-hundred-word story, Her Very Own Piece of History, was broadcasting what I figured was the reveal, only to throw me for a loop with a younger Thomas. Neat ending for this cool story.

Oh, so Thomas a descendent, I take it? I love it! I like the fact she apparently doesn't realize Thomas is a ghost. But as a romance writer, using the ghost of Thomas to set up her real-life romance is perfect. I wish I could consult with Thomas a time or two myself.

LOL! :) Yeah, wouldn't that have been handy?! :) ;) Thanx so much for your review on this one, Darlene -- it was certainly a fun one!! ;) ;) I'm sorry I'm behind a few days -- the placement for new students and talking with parents about enrollment has begun...yay! NOT. :) Take care out there, ma'am, and have a great week! ;) ;) Yvette

You, too, ma'am! Try not to work too hard.

Is Cheryl a witch? Why are so many spirits named Thomas? I think that Cheryl is just a naive young lady so fixated upon her on work she is blinded by the facts. I guess spirits are named Thomas because it was a popular name centuries ago.
Good Job.
Rikki:)

Naaahh... not a witch. :) ;) Are there lots of them named Thomas...I've only met a couple.. :) :) ;) Thanx for the review on this one, Rikki, and glad y'all are all good after the rain/wind down there! ;) :) Take care and have a great weekend! ;) Yvette

Had she been a witch he could have been her guide. Oh! well. My Thomas is a priest that lived in Sodom as a slave. Much ado about nothing, Have a great day.

I like when we have to write to a certain number of words, and as you say, you hit it exactly. A surprise ending; I didn't see Thomas being real, or coming to life, or whatever. Well written.

Yvette,
Now THAT is weird. I would have preferred her to pick up a cat, I think. I would not have picked up that guy. No way. I would have driven fast and hard in the opposite direction... but this is your story. Go for it.
It was nice knowing ya! Thanks and good luck!

Hey, I can handle weird... yeah, in fact, I'm pretty sure weird fits right in with a lot of the craziness my pen comes up with, yeah? ;) ;) Glad you enjoyed this one, Robyn -- it really was fun to do the whole ghost-to-person thing and just let folks wonder... :) :) Thanx for the review, ma'am, and take care! ;) ;) Yvette

Beautiful story, Yvette. And I love the happy ending... and the bell. Nice touch!
Thanks so much for sharing and good luck in the contest.
P.S. He's a ghost, isn't he?... I was wondering if I had understood correctly.

Hey Yvette. That's a cool story. The setting was intriguing so I looked for the hook. When I read the line, " but he was gone" I decided Thomas was not real. I figured Cheryl either imagined him or he was from the distant past. Good story. Z

You never know when or where you might find Mr. Right. Just keep your eyes and heart open to the possibilities. Good job on this slice of life. We know enough about Cheryl to see that this young man with the bell is exactly what she's looking for. Well done! :)

Oooh. A romantic fantasy piece? I was beginning to think that Thomas was a ghost given the fact that he knows so much and comes and disappears like one. But apparently, he's shape-shifter, too! Hope the relationship works!

What a fun interpretation ... I certainly have them in other stories! ;) ;) I'm just glad you enjoyed my blonde meanderings again, Helen -- so good to have you back! ;) ;) Thanx for the review and good luck getting settled back in! ;) ;) Yvette

I'm truly amazed at your ability to come up with the mystically mysterious Yvette, you probably can't resist it, like I can't resist, the mysticism of huma "existence" we all seem to have our gift, you like to leave the inexplicable to the reader, and like them to question the depths, light or dark, we'll done, a lovely story, well done, blessings Roy

Gotta watch my blonde brain...sometimes I honestly have NO idea what I'm gonna write and I put fingers on the keyboard, start to type a 'typical ordinary sentence', and just let my imagination take the keys! :) And, really, that's not much of an exaggeration on some of these 'stand-alone shorties' like this one! ;) ;) Thanx for the review, Sir Roy! ;) ;) Yvette
