That was a beautiful poem. Romanticized wisdom. Enjoyable to read as the visual imagery was dripping with creativity. Well thought out and clearly written. God bless you :)

Congratulations on your win, Tony. I absolutely love the third stanza - you have expressed my sentiments exactly. Yes, there is truth in dreams. It can explore the subconscious, but go even deeper which you explore in the following sentences.
Our spiritual selves know the truth of our existence. In our busy lives, we don't necessarily take time out to contemplate 'the music of deeper worlds.' That phrase is remarkable! This was a pleasure to read. Hugs, Lou

This poem is a delight to read, Tony. Also, the longest single sentence I have ever encountered, but the way you've structured it makes it work well.
I assume "wit" as you've used it here means something similar to domain or realm? I've never heard it used that way before. Your mastery of unusual words or word usage is impressive.
The "fleeting sails of friendship" is very clever, I think.
Wonderful stuff. I see you are currently leading the voting for POM. I certainly hope this takes it out, it is the most deserving of those I have read. Great job,
Craig

Very many thanks for your kind words, Craig. It looks as though I?ve crept over the line with this one.
I appreciate your two cents worth and the shining stars. All good wishes, Tony.
I used ?wit? in the sense of ?understanding? or ?knowledge?.

This is beautiful, Tony. I think it is nearly perfect.... as perfect as a poem can be. Did you mean to make the entire poem a single sentence? It is an unusually long sentence, but somehow it works. The opening lines are especially strong and moving with the powerful images and beautiful word choices. It is a poem to be read again and again. Do you have a book of your poetry available yet? I hope so.

So good of you to drop by and review this, Adonna. What lovely comments, and thanks, too, for the sixth star. I didn?t consciously make the poem a single sentence and may have another look at that.
I?ve had four books of poems published by a small, local publisher, Ginninderra Press. They are all available on Amazon, both in Kindle and paperback format. I publish under my full name: Antony Fawcus.
Best wishes, Tony

Thanks Tony. I'm on my way to Amazon right now. ;p

This is a lovely free verse poem, Tony. The first ten lines, especially, resonate with this reader ~ "the truth in dreams,
the music of deeper worlds than ours," Great job. Marilyn

Hello Tony,
It is wonderful to see the return of the poet.
Splendid imagery in this atmospheric poem.
I like to wander in the truth of dreams, myself,
where time is slowed, and fleeting sails can still be seen,
however briefly.
Six ancient grains of sand.

Thanks, Robert. It's a while since I've written a poem. A nice change of pace after this interminable novel. I appreciate those kind comments and the six stars.

I think this poem in free verse has some really lovely lines. One favorite is: the music of deeper worlds than ours. I like the internal rhyme toward the end in the last stanza of "grains" and "veins." There is interesting "f" alliteration in the last stanza also with "fare" plus "fleeting" and "friendship" and "found." It is, in fact, almost lyrical! Not sure what to improve on. Thanks for posting!

This is the second poem I've read today that speaks of dreams and nighttime, and I can honestly say I'm looking forward to bed tonight lol!
What I loved most about this poem was it's haunting tone; it was like reading in a dream actually, and if that's what you were wanting to convey, then I think you nailed it. This was my favourite stanza:
"a bidding to fare well,
as blow the winds into
the fleeting sails
of friendship
found each day anew
in ancient grains of sand
and pulsing veins"
Beautiful imagery and fabulous metaphor!
