Troy looks like a honey bear. Your poem is beautiful. It's wonderful that through your love, you helped him overcome his fear of you. I'm thinking that he was a rescued pup. I miss my dog, too.

As a dog lover myself, I loved your dog-nonet. It speaks of real love and care for your beautiful dog. (Is the photo of him?). My dogs are all coming from shelters and were a bit shy in the beginning. I have the impression that yours also was a rescued dog

Thanks! He was an abandoned dog mistreated by its former owner. I found him at a lake. I'm glad you enjoyed my poem!

I had a dog like that myself. He was a stray and was afraid but we ended up taking him in and he became a most beloved member of the family. He taught me so much.
