I like this. The poem is peaceful. The poem flows smoothly and each line leads into the other with a simple grace. Your views on the subject you chose are represented nicely. It leaves the reader thinking and that is good.

We all have it in us; the ability to succeed. This is very well written with very good imagery and descriptive scheme. Thank you for sharing.

Seems like you're talking about two sorts of people, the first and the last of the poem. I agree that the way to be is to reach for what you want. Great job.

An inspiring poem to be enjoyed early this morning. This poem describes clearly about goals, and the spirit to reach it. On top of that, it also speaks about friendship, which makes it stand out from others of its kind.
Reach out for the hands that will pull you up high
Remember the past on this new path you fly
Real friends will stay, locked deep in your heart

Nicely done. I noticed that each line rhymed with the one after it except for lines 3 and 4... reach and succeed. Other than that, great job. A pleasure to read and review.

This is a great motivational poem. It encourages one to reach high but do not forget where we come from. This is a poem to be read over and over again to remind us to move forward in life.

This is a terrific piece and so appropriate for this time of year. It would work really well as part of a commencement speech at a high school or college. It reminds me of the Dr. Seuss book he wrote for graduation back in the early 1990's "Oh the Places You'll Go". Loved it I think w your writing is very powerful. Thanks for sharing this!

It was fascinating that you started with a definition for "sadness" and then proceeded to give the reader good advice about living with "gusto." I enjoyed your rhymes and "sky" hyperbole along with your "phoenix" metaphor.

Hi deepwater,
This is a fine poem with a wise and wonderful message. Your phrasing and word choices are both excellent. Your intermittent rhyme works well. Good....chey
