I like the rugged individualism of this poem that greatly makes a distinct to call to everyone to be rugged inviduals, making mankind in control of there own destiny.

There is nothing as important as living a life of your own choice. I truly enjoy your style of writing. Fresh, original. Great work, Lavender

Nicely done and I couldn't agree more. It's only when we do with our own two hands, work a good hard day, love and lose that we truly understand how to live. Doubting ourselves will never get us anywhere. :)

The message here is very good, and it was enjoyable to read. I like the use of the word Pilgrim. And I liked the line to bet your soul on the human unknown.
Thanks

Lovely and wise :)
Liked these lines especially: I am my best friend,
As I look down the farthest side of my life with age,
Fulfilled and understanding in all, and truly content
to have lived a life that was of my own choice
This is what we should all want.

Well done, and you are right--it is our choice. It's what makes life so grand. I really love how you let the words speak more than your display photo: no colors, or fancy design. Very good--because this is a writers site, not an art site.
I really enjoyed this piece.

A beautiful and well written poem. I especially liked the line; "Only to bet your soul against the human unknown, Seeking intimate wealth in the company of friends". That is surely a line to make one think. Thank you for sharing your work. Ian

I enjoyed your story/poem which had a strong message; life is an adventure and to be enjoyed. Be your own person and get out there, dare to be different and life is too short to sit home wondering 'what if.' "Go out on a limb, that is where the fruit is." Well done.

I find this poem strangely uplifting and unsettling at the same time. But when you think about it, that's what a quest is all about, in this case life itself. Good work.

Hullo Deepwater ....
From a construction point of view, this free-thought writing is fine and I have read your words with interest, especially where you say that you are your own best friend.
That takes some thinking about although, as I read it, you have chosen to live your life alone and so - perhaps you are your own best friend - from choice.
Thank you for sharing these thoughts with us.
With love from ..... Nanette Mary.
