An excellent illustration of one of the great lessons of life. Compassion, certainly for your friends, but also for others in need, is a true test of one's personality.

You embrace the circle of life in this writing, going from birth to death. Indeed, real friends are Always there to pick us up when we fall. Philisophical writing. Very nicely done!
Kind regards

Insightful as this piece is, I would not have categorized it as a poem, but as prose. I think this is true: Falling is part of life. However the thought about trust that followed didn't seem to fit. I would have expanded Falling is part of life to include something about getting up after you fall.

This says it all, my friend. This is a very heavy piece and so very true. The format is interesting too and even leaves an impression of longevity, as does a life-time, we hope!
Dying art of compassion is brilliant. Great poem.

Excellent.
Smoking, too much alcohol, too much food can harm you.
"Toxic People,"-Lillian Glass, PH.D.--will kill you.
Chose your friends based on the qualities you see in yourself. Acceptance of friends is good, absolute commitment is not necessary; if friends are not supporting it is required that you move on.
Trust yourself, give yourself emotionally to others who reciprocate, and move away from those that are Toxic.

Hello deepwater
I read you long lines poem as (Prose/poem)
my thoughts-
Being
thoughtful is a token
of starting a friendship;
is cozy and warm like
sun rays beaming upon
a garden of love
with compassion.

the basis of all real friendship, we - I would use a period there
wisdom needed to survive, the - I would use a period there
Your insightful advice is wise - certainly holding on to people in our lives who are only destructive, not supportive, is never a good idea.
Everyone deserves friends who are encouraging and nurturing, not ones who abandon them at the sign of trouble.

Very thought provoking. The idea and meaning behind this is quite clear. I suppose a few good metaphors would have strengthen your reasoning. The ending paragraph is what ties this all together. The in between is the art we must all learn. Thanks for Sharing. Les

Wow, I guess the words of this poetry just about seems it all up. We all want change and are searching for something different or better; however, things can't get better if we forget everything that made life great. Thanks for the great read. :-)
