October, with its obvious winding down into winter, lends itself to such restrospective thoughts. Very pretty poem. Best regards, Jeanie Mercer

Hi deepwater.
This is sad. It makes me think of songs and poems from other wars. I suppose we do look back when we are dying. You write with great style. This is excellent.
Fondly, Rebecca

Not bad written in spite of the several lines to go into others.
I feel you could have been a bit more poetic, but this is only my taste. I believe that in free style you have the freedom to really go for it, but some poets prefer the casual approach even when they are free to play with diction in a profound way.
Take care now!

You always hope that you leave something worthwhile behind, and those you love will never forget you. I hope that too. Well done.

This is a very well written poem. It was easy to ready and flowed very smoothly. I the subject matter was a little dark, but it was still very well written.

A poem of reflection so poetically
framed in stylishly, soft words that
caress the heart as one reads on this
travel through life and the reminicing
of what footsteps in the sands of
time you have left.
Beautifully orchestrated and presented.
Well done

Comment from Jay Squires
A very pungent and disquieting poem, Deepwater. October, being one of the later months of fall or early winter brings thoughts of death -- as does your poem. And it becomes a time to take an inventory.
Memories of live which I have lived [I believe you mean "of LIFE which I have lived"]
All in all, an exceedingly well conceived and written poem.
Blessings,
Jay

This is a beautiful, but sad poem. I hope it is not coming from a depressed heart. If it is, don't give up. I have been where you are. God will comfort you. If it's just beautiful words by a poet, there are usually reasons we write what we do. I hope God brings you comfort and peace. Your words are very lovely and yet heartbreaking. Still, it is an excellent read. God bless you!

A poem he wrote about his life and did he live it like he should have? The picture looks like October. In the second line I think you put live where you meant life?

I think you did quite well with this one. No errors that I could see, just an interesting short piece about looking on back at life. You get across the nostalgia rather well. Thank you for sharing.
